Support Starts at Home
Some of you recently received a solicitation letter from Southern Cayuga Instant Aid. Capital campaigns are an effective way for organizations to raise funds and, of course, anyone can donate to whomever they please. Their letter may have given you the mistaken impression, however, that SCIA is your primary emergency/ambulance service provider. This is not the case. Your primary service provider is the Aurora Volunteer Fire Department. December 2011 Clarification Letter
Visit from Santa!
Santa will be making his rounds again this year on Christmas Eve. He will be stopping at all of the good little boys and girls homes for one last chance to get that special Christmas wish in to the big man! He will be arriving in style in one of the fire trucks! If you would like Santa to stop at your home this year please email us at secretary@avfd.net no later than December 23rd to sign up. Visits usually happen between 4 and 6 pm Christmas Eve depending on the number of homes Santa needs to stop at.
Chicken BBQs are back!
Chicken BBQs start April 25th and will continue through the summer on the 4th Sunday of each month! We'll sell from 11am until they are gone. You can make reservations by emailing secretary@avfd.net or calling the firehouse after 8am on the day of the BBQ. The food goes fast, so get down there early!
Thank you for your support!
The Ham & Turkey Raffle was a HUGE success! We want to thank everyone who attended Saturday night, as well as all of the businesses that donated door prizes. We know that in these tough economic times, it is difficult to give away merchandise, but it is through your continued support that we are able to buy the equipment needed to serve our community the best way possible! Thank you to everyone who contributed.
Ham & Turkey Raffle
Save the date! The Ham & Turkey raffle will be held April 10, 2010, from 5 pm until the last prize is gone! We hope to see you all there.
