Welcome to the AVFD
The Aurora Volunteer Fire Department is an all-volunteer fire and rescue organization in Aurora, NY. We are funded by donations and through the Aurora-Ledyard Fire District.
AVFD Newsletter
We publish a newsletter a few times a year. Each issue features stories about the department, including an introduction to a specific member, and descriptions about specialized teams or skills within the department. We distribute them electronically by email. To be included on our circulation list, send a note to . Your email address will not be distributed or visible to others receiving the newsletter. A few printed copies will be available at the Aurora Free Library and at some businesses around town. All issues of the newsletter will be available here.
The October 2005 newsletter features Jim Bailey and Incident Command. This year was the 35th anniversary for the Auxiliary, and Alice Bradley has written a retrospective.

The Aurora Volunteer Fire Department is selling house markers to increase the visibility and accessibility of your home. Whether or not you have your house number posted on the side of your house or on your mailbox, these house markers are optimized to make finding your house easier in an emergency.
Money from the sale of the markers will be used to fund the AVFD.
