WWofE trapped under Webb House
Halloween Day, 2004, the Rescue truck (R-3-1) and the Ambulance (A-3-1) were called to the unlikely scene of a "person" trapped under the old Holland house. Upon arrival, firefighters and EMTs were SHOCKED to discover that they had access only to the stocking legs of the patient, and they were unable to find a pulse. Pulling out the "Jaws of Life", and employing professional-grade stabilization and rescue techniques, the workers did not stop to consider whether or not a tornado had occurred recently.
Ultimately, the size of the situation proved to be too much for our resources, but we resisted calling for mutual aid, in part because of the obvious joy the local "little people" expressed after learning of the dramatic demise of the patient.
